Changes in Honor Club Policies

We have recently been notified that starting in the fall of 2008, the Chickasaw Nation Honor Club will no longer serve all Johnson O'Malley students. Only Chickasaw students with Chickasaw tribal citizenship will be served.

This change in policy coincides with the implementation of the S.T.A.R. Education Incentive Program by the Choctaw Nation. As with the Chickasaw Nation, Choctaw students must be members of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. To be eligible students must have the citizenship documentation on file in their Indian Education office and achieve grades no lower then a B. Both tribes will serve 2nd through 12th grades if the school gives letter grades for the 2nd grade. Otherwise, the grades served will be 3rd through 12th.

We hope that we are giving all Chickasaw and Choctaw students enough time to apply for citizenship through their respective tribes before school starts in the fall.

We would like to thank the Chickasaw Nation for their past generosity in serving all of our Johnson O'Malley students and including them in their Honor Club program for so long.
